New to aesthetics? Have questions before you book?

We understand that choosing an aesthetic treatment can feel like a big decision,  especially if its your first time.

We've answered some of the questions we've asked most often below. If there's anything you're still unsure about, we're always happy to chat with you before you book.

Common Questions

Expert guidance on your bespoke aesthetic journey.

Before your appointment

I've never had an aesthetic treatment before. Where do I start?
You don’t need to know which treatment you need before you contact us.

During your consultation, we’ll listen to what you’d like to improve, assess your features and discuss the most appropriate options for you.

Our approach is always personalised. We won’t recommend a treatment simply because it’s popular — we’ll recommend what we genuinely feel is suitable for you.

Not sure where to start? Book a consultation and we’ll guide you through it.
Do I need a consultation before treatment?
For many treatments, a consultation is an important part of the process. It gives us the opportunity to understand your goals, assess suitability and make sure you have all the information you need before deciding.

We want you to feel informed and comfortable — never rushed into a decision.
Will I be told what treatment I need?
Not necessarily — and that’s the point.

You tell us what you’re concerned about and what you’d like to achieve. We’ll then explain the options available and help you decide what is most appropriate.

Sometimes the treatment you think you need isn’t actually the treatment we would recommend.

Our aim is to enhance your natural features rather than change who you are.
I’m worried about looking ‘overdone’. Can you still help me?
Absolutely.

We understand that many clients want to look fresher, more rested and more confident, rather than obviously ‘done’.

Our approach is centred around enhancing your natural features and creating balanced, subtle results. The amount of treatment you have is always your choice, and we’ll discuss realistic results with you beforehand.

You can explore our full treatment menu or contact us if you’re unsure which option is right for you.

How do I know which treatment is right for me?
That’s exactly what your consultation is for.

There are many different treatments available, and it can be confusing trying to choose from a treatment menu.

Rather than expecting you to diagnose yourself, we’ll discuss your concerns, assess your needs and explain the options available to you.

You don’t need to know the treatment name before you book.
Will my treatment look natural?
Natural-looking results are one of our priorities.

Every face is different, so treatments are tailored to your individual features, proportions and goals.

We believe aesthetics should enhance what you already have — not make you look like somebody else.
How long will my appointment take?
Appointment times vary depending on the treatment.

When booking, you’ll be shown the expected appointment time. If you’re unsure, please contact us and we’ll be happy to advise.
Will it hurt?
Everyone’s experience is different, but we take your comfort seriously.

Before treatment, we’ll explain what you can expect and discuss ways to make the experience as comfortable as possible.

Many injectable treatments are also designed with comfort in mind, and we use appropriate techniques and products to help minimise discomfort.

Results & Aftercare

How quickly will I see results?
This depends on the treatment.

Some treatments produce an immediate visible difference, while others work gradually as your skin responds and improves over time.

We’ll explain what you can realistically expect during your consultation so you know what to look for after your treatment.
How long do results last?
There isn’t one answer for every treatment.

Results vary depending on the treatment, the area treated, your individual response and other factors.

We’ll discuss expected longevity with you before treatment so you know what to expect.
Will there be any swelling or bruising?
Some aesthetic treatments can cause temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising.

This varies from person to person and depends on the treatment and area being treated.

We’ll explain the expected recovery and aftercare before you leave, including anything you should avoid while your skin is settling.
Can I go back to work after treatment?
For many treatments, clients can return to their normal routine relatively quickly.

However, some treatments may cause temporary redness, swelling or bruising, so we recommend considering this when planning your appointment.

We’ll advise you of any specific downtime associated with your treatment.
Do you provide aftercare advice?
Yes.

Your aftercare is an important part of your treatment. We’ll explain what you should and shouldn’t do following your appointment and answer any questions you may have.

If you have any concerns after treatment, please contact us rather than worrying at home.

Safety & Suitability

Are your treatments safe?
Your safety comes first.

We only recommend treatments that are appropriate for you following an assessment and consultation. We’ll discuss your medical history, any relevant medications or allergies and your individual circumstances where appropriate.

All treatments have potential risks and side effects, which we’ll explain before you consent to treatment.
Who performs the treatments?
Your treatments are carried out by trained and insured practitioners at K Aesthetics, with knowledge of facial anatomy and skin concerns.

Our focus is on safe, considered and personalised treatment rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Can anyone have aesthetic treatment?
Not everyone will be suitable for every treatment.

Your suitability depends on factors including your health, medical history, medications, allergies, pregnancy/breastfeeding status and the specific treatment you’re considering.

We’ll assess your suitability before proceeding.
Can I have treatment if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
Some aesthetic treatments are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Please let us know if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive when making your enquiry so that we can advise you appropriately.

Fillers & Anti-Wrinkle

What’s the difference between anti-wrinkle treatment and dermal filler?
They’re designed to do different things.

Anti-wrinkle treatment works by temporarily reducing specific muscle activity, helping to soften dynamic lines and wrinkles.

Dermal filler is used to add volume, enhance definition or restore fullness in selected areas.

Sometimes different treatments may be recommended together, depending on your individual goals.
Will dermal filler make me look unnatural?
Not necessarily.

Dermal filler can be used very subtly to enhance features, restore lost volume and improve facial balance.

The result depends on factors such as the product used, amount placed, treatment area and — most importantly — the treatment plan.

Our aim is for you to still look like you.
How long does dermal filler last?
Longevity varies depending on the treatment area, product used and your individual metabolism.

We’ll discuss this with you during your consultation rather than promising a fixed timeframe.
Can filler be dissolved if I change my mind?
Some types of dermal filler can be dissolved using an appropriate dissolving treatment.

However, this is not something that should be viewed as an ‘undo button’, and dissolving treatment is not suitable in every circumstance.

We’ll discuss your options carefully if you have concerns about existing filler.

Your Experience at K Aesthetics

What makes K Aesthetics different?
We believe aesthetics should be personal, not pressured.

We’re not here to give you a list of things you ‘should’ change.

We’ll listen to what you’re looking for, explain your options honestly and recommend treatment based on your individual features and goals.

Our philosophy is simple:

Enhance, don’t change.

We want you to leave feeling confident, informed and still completely yourself.
Do I have to have a treatment after my consultation?
No.

A consultation is an opportunity to talk, ask questions and understand your options.

There is never any obligation to proceed with treatment. We want you to make a decision that you’re completely comfortable with.
Do you offer treatment plans?
Yes.

Where appropriate, we can create a personalised treatment plan based on your goals rather than trying to achieve everything in one appointment.

Sometimes the best result comes from taking a gradual approach.
Do you offer treatment packages?
Selected treatments are available as courses or packages.

Where a course is recommended, we’ll explain why it may be beneficial and what is included before you commit.
Can I book if I don’t know what I want?
Absolutely.

In fact, that’s one of the most common reasons people book a consultation.

Tell us what you’re unhappy with or what you’d like to improve — you don’t need to know the name of the treatment.

We’ll help you work out the rest.

STILL HAVE A QUESTION?

If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, please get in touch.

We’re happy to answer your questions before you book.
